20 Things Spanking Fetishists Have in Common
Sweet Tea
Tumblr media
Spankos are soulmates. The fetish hardwires our hearts and minds in remarkably consistent ways that aren’t usually apparent to others, so it’s always a bit magical when we chat. “Holy shit, you get me.” I still find it shocking how much we have in common. Can you relate to this list?
1. We’ve been like this for a very long time.
“I’m a lifelong spanko.” This is common in our community and not all that surprising, as most fetishes are formed during childhood. The vast majority of spankos I’ve met have either been this way for as long as they can remember, or can pinpoint a specific age in childhood when they became preoccupied with thoughts of the act. I can’t personally remember any point in my life when spanking didn’t fascinate me and captivate my attention.
2. It’s not a choice.
For many people, spanking is a kink. They enjoy it and find it sexy, but don’t necessarily consider it a requirement for a good time. For those with the fetish, however, spanking is a need rather than an option. Some of us can appreciate and enjoy other BDSM-related activities like bondage or wax play or needles, but spanking is central to our sexuality. This thing lies at the core of our soul and we couldn’t get rid of it if we tried.
Tumblr media
We looked up the word ‘spanking’ in the dictionary as kids, not once but multiple times. This also applied to related words like ‘paddle’, ‘switch’, ‘flog’, ‘discipline’, or ‘punish’. We knew their meanings, of course, but the act of reading the definitions was excitingarousing, even—though we may have been too young to conceptualize the feeling as sexual. If we studied a foreign language, we sat in class and wondered in the back of our minds, “But what’s the word for ‘spanking’?”
(Is this common with other fetishes? Did foot fetishists look up the words ‘foot’, ‘high heel’, ‘stocking’, etc. at the library, bashfully looking around to make sure no one else would notice? I wonder…)
4. We have, uhhh, ‘issues’ with being around it.
Non-spankos can talk about spanking like it’s nothing, but that’s not the case for people with a fetish for it. We may turn bright red when the topic comes up in conversation or feel the need to leave the room when spankings happen in movies or TV shows. For some, this is because the idea triggers intense arousal, even more so than if straight-up intercourse were playing onscreen. For others, it’s simply too intimate and embarrassing to think about unless we’re by ourselves or discussing it in the context of a sexual encounter. When I was a kid and friends publicly proclaimed, “My mom spanked me yesterday!” I felt absolutely mortified. “How can anyone talk about THAT so casually?”
5. We think about it a looooooot.
Some researcher folks have claimed we all think about sex an average of 18-35 times a day. The fetishists I know think about spanking at least this often if not more, frequently daydreaming about the smacking of butts. A fetish is, by definition, a meticulous obsession. We live and breathe it, and never run out of things to say when chatting with other spankos. We want to meet people like us and TALK about it in detail, even if we never end up playing together. It’s our favorite means of connection.
6. Our fetish has caused us hardship.
“Do you feel like your fetish is a curse?” I’ve seen this asked quite a bit on spanko forums. Most of us had to navigate a number of challenges while growing up with this thing. We felt shame, embarrassment, and isolation after realizing how different we were, and may have worried we were crazy. Our relationships with non-spankos have likely been riddled with intimacy problems because we can’t relate to each other sexually. No matter how kinky or open-minded our partners are, they’re unlikely to understand us unless they have the fetish too. As a result, many spankos become pickier over time, ultimately refusing to date those outside of their orientation. “I’d rather be single than with someone I can’t share this with.” Until we find our people, it’s a lonely world.
7. Spanking takes priority over sex.
Every spanko I’ve ever met has put spanking at the forefront of the itinerary. It’s satisfying in its own right for a lot of folks, whether or not other sexy stuff occurs before or afterward. Some spankos identify as asexual, eschewing intercourse entirely because it doesn’t interest them in the same way discipline does. Others are extremely sexual people who focus on spanking as the main course or frequently indulge as an extended form of foreplay. This is an example of why we might experience difficulty finding balance with non-spanko partners. By the time they’re ready to move onto something else, we’re just getting in the zone.
8. It’s on our mind when we orgasm.
One of the first times I had sex with another spanko, I was blown away by the level of telepathy between us. I closed my eyes and fantasized as he licked my clit. He suddenly paused and smiled. “You’re thinking about having your pants pulled down, aren’t you?” I mean fuck, of course I was, but how did he know?! With a bit more experience in the community, I realized many if not all spankos think about it while they’re getting off. The moment thoughts of discipline enter my mind I’m aroused, but I cool off just as quickly if my focus is drawn elsewhere. If I didn’t think about spanking, I’m not sure I’d ever climax.
9. Most of us have tried switching at least once.
Some spankos like to give and receive in equal share, but many have a preference toward being spanker or spankee. I’ve noticed, though, that even the most stubborn of us who proclaim, “I don’t switch!” have tried a taste of the other side out of curiosity at some point. It makes sense to want to learn all angles of the equation. I’m in favor of the idea that everyone benefits from switching. Understanding what our partners experience makes us all better lovers.
10. We want spankings to feel as ‘real’ as possible.
Often, spankees want to cry. We want to be held down and ‘made’ to take it until our spanker is done, no matter what we say or do. This makes the experience feel more real, as if we’re truly being punished by an authority figure and have no choice in the matter. Once trust has been established, some spankees will afford their partners blanket consent and opt not to use safewords. (I don’t recommend this route with anyone you wouldn’t trust with your life. There are oodles of legitimately fucked up people out there masking their abusive tendencies as BDSM. Vet your spankers well, ladies and gents.) This all exists to enhance the pleasure of the fantasy, but isn’t an invitation to violate limits. We want our spankers to be perceptive, taking us just far enough to inspire tears and provide release, but not so far as to genuinely break or traumatize us. Finding this balance is an art form that requires empathy, intelligence, communication, and skill.
11. We all have our preferences.
What implements do you like? What are your favorite positions? What kinds of spankings are your favorite to give? Bruises or no bruises? How long do you like to go for? What kinds of behavior would earn a spanking from you? These are the sexy deets we discuss when we chat, and our answers say a lot about our personalities. It’s rare for a spanko not to have feelings about such things. More often than not, we have specific reasons for liking what we like.
12. We enjoy associated activities.
To state the obvious: spankos love butts. LOOOOOOOOVE them. Naturally, we tend to enjoy other ass-focused activities in conjunction with spanking, like anal play, doggy-style sex, enemas, thermometers, and between-the-cheeks ‘inspections’. Many of us also dig other punishment-related activities traditionally associated with spanking, like corner time or writing lines. “I will not behave like such a sassy little brat. I will not behave like such a sassy little brat…”
13. For us, spanking is its own category.
I’ve noticed a desire in the spanko community to distinguish what we like from the greater umbrella of BDSM. Clearly, spanking incorporates elements of discipline, D/s, and sadomasochism. However, what most of us mean when we mention our fetish is far more specific. We’re not talking whips, dungeons, or shibari. We’re talking traditional, domestic bare-bottom OTK punishment with hands, paddles, belts, wooden spoons, bath brushes, and other goodies found in the home. It’s a comforting, parental, for-your-own-good type of vibe wherein we call our partners Mommy, Daddy, or other titles that convey nurturing familiarity. Very different than, say, having a cold ‘master-slave’ dynamic in a relationship, which tends to be a bit too much for our taste.
14. We love every stage of the process.
A non-spanko might solely imagine the physical slapping of cheeks when we refer to our love of spanking, but that's not the long and short of the matter. Spankos adore the entire arc of the narrative. The misbehavior that led to the spanking. The threats and anticipation. Getting into position. The warm-up and removal of each layer of clothing, all the way until the spankee’s bottom is bared. The swats, first with hands, then a variety of implements. The communication surrounding lecturing and admonishment. The catharsis of tears. The slow tenderness and beauty of aftercare. The closeness the ritual inspires. The intimate drama of this entire process is deeply satisfying.
15. We distinguish between different kinds of spankings.
What is the purpose of the spanking being given? Punishment? Maintenance? Stress relief? Eroticism? This detail is important to us, for it influences the style in which the spanker spanks. Sexual spankings often involve caressing of nether-regions and start off somewhat softly, building in strength at a comfortable pace throughout a drawn-out warm-up period. Punishment spankings embody an entirely different space. They are meant to be intense, painful, and challenging to endure.
16. We watch a lot of the same porn.
My closest spanko friends and I send each other links to videos every so often. “Have you seen this one?” A lot of the time the answer is yes, for we’re drawn to the same spankers, spankees, and couples who create our favorite content. Spanking vids with a glitzier, more porny atmosphere tend to be lower on the ladder than amateur, traditionally domestic ones. Again, we want it all to feel as real as possible. The “we shot this at home while punishing actual misbehavior” setup provides more satisfaction.
17. We don’t usually watch our porn with non-spankos.
Back when I used to date vanilla and guys would ask, “What kind of porn do you watch?” I would lie and pretend porn wasn’t my thing. This is because I knew that what I watch would likely bore them. A clip with fifteen straight minutes of nothing but spanking, sans sex, would likely make a lot of people’s eyes roll back into their sockets. “So monotonous!” Once I started dating spankos, however, I found much joy in sharing, knowing we could relish each and every moment together.
18. We all want a house out in the boonies.
Ask a spanko about their goals for the future and many will answer, “I want to buy land.” This is because our activity of choice is LOUD and has the potential to disturb nearby neighbors. Nothing ruins a good time like a visit from the fuzz. The begging, screaming, and crying… they are cleansing to our souls and we wish to do them freely. It’s countryside living for us, boy howdy.
19. We’re very romantic people.
It comes as no surprise that many spankos are traditionalists. We often relish old-timey acts of devotion like marriage, opening doors, buying flowers, and cooking for our partners. Many are monogamous and like to wait to have sex until deep bonds of commitment are set in stone. Spanking is an extension of this attitude toward intimacy. We’re so deeply devoted to our partners that we refuse to turn our backs on their misbehavior, laziness, procrastination, or feelings of guilt. Instead we stay, face them, and do what must be done to help them deal with their problems, following up with plenty of aftercare involving sweetness and reassurance. Squeeee.
20. We speak the same love language.
For partners with a consensual domestic discipline dynamic, spanking is an act of love. It’s an intimate ritual centering on a potent giving and receiving of attention. A means of setting aside time to converse and communicate about the challenges of relationships and everyday affairs. A tool for strengthening the bond and balancing the energy between spanker and spankee. A way of helping one another feel “right” and “natural” in a world that so often feels like it’s tumbling off its axis. In nonconsensual or manipulative contexts, spanking is abuse. Between those of us who crave it from one other, it’s the highest form of affection.
Granted, these are solely my thoughts based on my own observations and experiences.
Anything to add, spankos?

Dan and Phil are probably some of the most inspiring people in the world to me. I just look at them and think:
You can be queer and grow up to be loved and happy. You can learn to be comfortable with yourself
You can be weird and awkward in a myriad of ways, and you can find people who will love you for that weirdness, who will match it and double it. If you feel isolated for being different from those around you, that doesn't mean that there's something wrong with you. It just means you're around the wrong people. The right people are out there and you can find them, or they can find you
If/when you're safe to do so, be yourself as freely and loudly as possible. This is the way you can find your people. This is the way for you to be happy
You can have chronic physical or mental health issues and be loved, supported, and happy
If your teenage years were shit, the future is bright, and it gets better from there. You just need to survive
Your life doesn't end at 30. Honestly, that's sort of when it begins. If you don't know what you're doing in your 20s, that's okay. Most people don't. You'll figure it out. Don't be hard on yourself
The more you live, the more you get to reinvent yourself
Relationships (of any kind) don't have to have a time limit. If you trust each other, love each other, and communicate clearly, you can stick by each other's side for as long as you want
You don't lose yourself once you reach an age that sounds "serious". You get to keep your whimsy and enthusiasm for the things you love as long as you don't give up on it
You can love and be loved. No matter what. You can love and be loved. It's possible. It's real. It's tangible. You can love and be loved.

The Global Game Jam® (GGJ®) is the world's largest game creation event taking place in physical locations across the globe. Think of it as a 48 hour hackathon focused on game development around a theme.
GGJ’s mission is to stimulate innovation, experimentation, and collaboration in games. The annual event begins on a Friday afternoon in January and kicks off with video keynotes and advice from leaders in the game development industry. The GGJ encourages collaboration and its events are not a competition. Anyone can apply to host a jam site as long as they have a dedicated jam organiser who agrees to follow a few GGJ rules, and a venue with internet access. The event is renown for fostering friendships while increasing confidence and opportunities within participating communities. Each GGJ event poses an intellectual challenge where people are invited to try new technology and tools while exploring new roles and skills.
Be it bubble tea, bubblegum, the housing bubble, soap bubbles, speech bubbles, air bubbles, social bubbles, blowing bubbles, bursting bubbles, and more, this year's theme was: Bubble.

Reminder that to the right, giving a child a rainbow flag can be seen as coercion or grooming. To the right, a teacher who happens to be queer is grooming their children. To the right, an openly queer YouTuber is grooming their viewers. To the right, someone who sells a queer book is a groomer. To the right, someone who portrays queer relationships in fiction is grooming the children who read those books or watch those films & shows. To the right, someone wearing a pronouns badge is a predator. To the right, a queer couple kissing in public are predators. To the right, pride is a celebration of predatory behaviour & a threat to their children's innocence, because they can't fathom how to explain the animalistic anal sex all gays have, and being put in that situation is a threat to them & their family. To the right, someone respecting their child's pronouns or trying to help them transition legally & safely, are grooming their children.
Remember: the Nazis didn't start by executing the Jews or raiding their communities; they started by creating impossible loopholes for citizenship in Germany, and spreading lies and suspicion about Jewish people and immigrants, deporting Italians and Africans, regardless of their social status or how long they had lived in Germany or their place of work, and by pushing teachers to teach children a Nazi-approved curriculum which made Hitler into a friendly, protective father-figure to all German citizens, and by creating a public ideology which made it dangerous to exist in public as anything noticeably 'other' than themselves and what they decided was correct, acceptable, and safe.
If you want to learn about this on a human level, rather than a detached look from a textbook, use a VPN & go on the BBC iPlayer available in the UK, and watch Season 5 of a show called 'A House Through Time'. The host, David Olusoga, takes viewers through the human lives of the people who lived in Berlin & London during WW2, and also in the years leading up to the start of the war. Jewish people lived in the same building as people who joined the SS, they were neighbours, and the stark reality of how many of those residents survived the war, as well as what happened to them and their families, under Nazi rule.
You are not safe from the right just because you're white. You are not safe from them just because you're not poor. You are not safe from them just because you're 'good' or 'kind'. You are not safe from them because you're not 'really' A danger to kids. You are not safe from them because you're not very interested in politics. You are not safe from them just because you have a 'knuckle-under' attitude to the next 4 years. You are not safe just because you're Christian.
You are not safe from them, because as long as you are not the exact same as them and do not fit their criteria for what is approved of, then you are part of the problem.
It's not just Muslims and Mexicans who are in danger. It's not just people of colour. It is everyone who they perceive as 'different'.
LGBT people, I need you to know that any “pedophile execution bill” passed in the US is meant to put you, personally, to death. When the right says “groomer,” they’re talking about you. When they say “predator,” they’re talking about you. When they say “pedophile,” they’re talking about you. Any actual child sex abusers who are convicted and executed would be, to them, a happy accident, a cherry on top of a law that’s meant to exterminate anyone who deviates from the cisgender, heterosexual norm.

I will be the one to say it, wherever we like this side conclusion or not, she dug this pit herself and Iskall provided the shovel
I've heard speculations of their relationship being a much closer than it appears online, and her deleting her channel to hide any trace of her involvement or his involvement while still keeping the comment on Iskall's channel is the nail in the coffin
The only thing that she has on her Channel right now is 36 comments that the majority tie back to Iskall in some way.
And additionally, I'd personally say it's come to a point of devotion and compassion for each other rather than what a normal "relationship" should be
And I want you all to keep in mind that if Stress isn't Iskall's "long-term girlfriend", then there is a woman out there who found out that her boyfriend was cheating on her with multiple of his employees and also possibly including his female best friend because of the amount of devotion they have to each other
But if Stress is the "long-term girlfriend", then this was a clear act of both devotion or she's been hit with trains worth of clarity and realization but I doubt this is the case because the comment is still up
And there was no single threat in her replies
YouTube's AI detection system will automatically delete replies with a threatening nature of that go against community guidelines before the person sees the reply.
Meaning that at the most cleverly worded insults have slipped through the hundreds of common worth of "You're so goated" and "Miss you too" and "We support you too" (update to make sure this was accurate I just checked it this than two minutes before this post and it is indeed compliments)
90% of her replies a positivity. And a couple months ago I even gave her the benefit of the doubt and said not to speculate on her situation because we didn't know any better. Aka even people who were skeptical like me and many others treats it her with integrity and dignity open till that reply was posted
I cannot speak on whether or not Iskall has gotten the threats he claims, but I always encouraged to not leave death threats, so I would imagine that it's a handful of people who do not have a life
But I could say with Confidence that if she got more than 8 threats, which is still not good but is a less considering the circumstances and general uncontrollable public, I would be mind-blown
So I'm very confident in the notion that she did this out of either realization to which I hope it is, and I hope for her community she seeks professional help because that level of devotion is unhealthy makes a steady bouncy back after some time OR it's another act of devotion
Because if he's in a legal case regarding this issue it is commonly advised to remove any incriminating evidence from social media so that it cannot be used against you; and it would be easy to argue their relationship based purely on her videos. Making the deletion of her channel an act of devotion rather than general clarity hitting her
Which is sad. I've never personally watched Many of Her videos only 30 at the most, but the general consensus of disappointment rather than anger putting her Direction leads me to conclude this is out of character behavior for her. And this would reinforce Iskall's repeated manipulation attempts.
It would mean his manipulation is effective and working.
The only possible way I could ever see people generally being outraged at her is if she was in on it too but that has already been confirmed by many of the victims they were unaware that she was also leaving, and were unaware of her general support.
This or will you find out that she's financially contributing to his legal case, to which I would argue the money would be better spent on therapy
But it just seems that she's digging herself into a pit or into a self destructive montage of being in support of someone who does not deserve it

I know x reader fans have always existed, and I don't generally mind them.
however I feel like the way they've overtaken fandom analysis/ shipping culture is an indication of the general decline of fandom communities.
they are normies, guys. I'm sorry.
it's not a slur, it's just a fact.
normies infiltrated fandom spaces because of covid.
they come in and just want to thirst after a particular character... and that's like. fine. of course it's fine it's always happened.
but they don't seem to actually care about the character being in character. nor does it really require any analysis of that character's motivations or story, or their relationship with others.
I know not everything HAS to relate to canon. like duh, we are here to make our own canon.
but come the fuck on. I go into a tag and it has a character tagged being some dommy daddy when that character is nothing like that in canon... and there's this line between making a character act a certain way bc that's your fetish, and completely ignoring who that character is entirely to the point where you could just replace their name with anyone else in any other show, and it wouldn't make a difference?
like that's... normie shit. it's people who do not think deeply or passionately about that media, it's just them having this surface level grasp of the physical attractiveness of the character.
and again. I'm not saying these people are stupid or whatever, just that the overabundance of this watered down ass content is an indicator of how much fandom has changed.
fans are not the socially awkward introverted queer voyeurs anymore, who enjoy fantasies and daydreaming about being someone else because of this disconnect with the self, or this fear of others that leads you to seek human connection in fiction.
they're the people who do just fine with other people ... and I'm not gatekeeping fandom from people who aren't socially awkward or anything.
but they come here, and they do shit like say you can't like this ship bc it's morally wrong .. you're not allowed to thirst after an 18 year old that makes you a pedophile... I'm 15 and I'm allowed to lust for Gojo but you a 25 year old woman, aren't allowed to write itafushi fanfiction.
go back to taxes and your job!!!
like that drives me fucking insane. these people want to insist they're not normies but they then go around insisting that being over 20 means you need to Work and Be a Normal Adult... bitch.
adults make fandoms. not you fucking children. you don't know how to build communities, you barely know how to make friends.
attacking people who like the same thing you do? is that what you think community building is?
oh this poor generation. anyway.
they come here and are disgusted by weird fetishes and obsessions. and by people sharing sexual headcanons or ideas about sexuality that make them uncomfortable because they've never ever been counter culture, they've never felt the need to go against the status quo.
they're cis straight girls/women mostly, whose mothers basically fuel the ya spicy romance booktok industry.
they're just younger and think it's trendier to be "in a fandom" than a fucking book club.
they're modern day bodice ripper fans... which again
would be so fucking fine, if they weren't doing the youth version of karening the fuck out.
and flooding the fandom with both hyper criticism of how you conduct your business AND an aggressive market for just imagining yourself with a character.
like fandom was originally just hyper passionate freaks.
they discussed movies and TV shows like life and death. they were fucking nuts but in the way where they needed to seek one another out, to share in this joyous sensation of being a freak obsessed with something beyond the point of reason.
now?
now it's like ... oh.
Sally from Bio thinks your love of Gaara is super creepy when you're 19. like what, are you a pedophile? why are you imagining him getting married to Naruto? are you a fucking pedophile who gets off to teens making out? they need to check your hard drive!!
like ok Sally.
ok.
I just think x reader is such a strong indicator of what kind of fan you are.
and if a fandom is mostly x reader... then it can't be that popular. it can't be a proper community.
how can it be?
it's as watered down and generic and bland as a marvel movie. it's stripped down of anything unique. it is pruned of controversy and humanity.
you are literally stripping yourself down into a non character.
you're not truly projecting yourself into a character, because the you that you read about is nothing. a placeholder. you are a passive observing robot who exists only in the form of a faceless and personality less entity.
and I don't get it.
what's the point then?
isn't fiction about realizing something about yourself or others
if your only manner of engaging is stripping yourself of personality... is it engagement at all?
or is it just more mindless consumption?
just watch law and order, man.
watch the good doctor or some shit on lifetime.
there's shows with passionate fanbases who theory craft and endlessly obsess with relationships and world building, and then there's shows with x reader only content and you know exactly why now.

I have two disabled characters who are in a relationship. One uses a wheelchair and has double LLA (one above one below knee), whike the other is generally mobile and doesnt use any aids. Theyve been in a relationship for years, but mostly online rather than in person (the story takes place in person). Should I have them have a consent and boundaries (e.g. you can lift me but only if I ask or if i'm already using you to pull myself up, you may offer to help me move over difficult terrain but what path we take is my decision, im okay with you touching my nubs if you tell me youre gonna do it and wait for confirmation beforehand) talk 'on screen' or should it have happened earlier in/at the beginning of the relationship and be referenced to?
Sorry if this is confusing. I am disabled, so I have had to have these talks before, but I dont use a wheelchair and ive never been in a largely online relationship where physical stuff isnt relevant.
Hello!
This is a similar situation/dynamic to my boyfriend and I. Though we're not in an online relationship, we are long distance and most of our day-to-day interactions take place through texting or social media. Both of us are disabled but at different "levels" (So to speak).
While we have several disabilities in common (Autism, Tourette's, ADHD, etc.), the main difference is our levels in physical disability. He is paralyzed and uses a wheelchair full time. I have an undiagnosed disability that causes me chronic pain/limited mobility and use a cane and other mobility aids.
Above all else, though, we're both two separate people. We have different histories, opinions, and experiences. Most of our discussions about boundaries have actually been about language. While I reclaim the term "cripple" for myself to a degree, he doesn't. On the other hand, he prefers to be called "somebody with autism" while I prefer the term "autistic person".
These seem like small things to worry about but they're fairly important, both to our identity and our relationship. We have a sort of compromise in our relationship. I haven't changed my language entirely and neither has he, but we've both adjusted it. He uses the language he's comfortable with for himself, I use the language I'm comfortable with for myself. We generally stick to neutral language when speaking generally.
I mentioned that this is the only real discussion we've had about boundaries. The rest of it has happened more over time, usually in the form of correcting one another or elaborating on our needs and preferences.
Like with consent, it shouldn't just be one conversation. It's constantly evolving.
In your story, it may be best to show that. If you leave it as something that happens offscreen, it may be looked over. If you have a big conversation happen onscreen, it could undercut the seriousness of their relationship or come across as clunky.
Having this discussion be an ever-evolving series of small conversations instead can make it seem more natural and also help show how somebody's needs and preferences can change over time.
If you do want a conversation/discussion to happen that's specifically relevant to their online relationship, it could involve their boundaries and preferences around things such as language (What terms to use, which ones to avoid, etc.), photos/videos (Whether they can be shared, whether they can be requested, what parts of themself will be in them, etc.), talking about them to others (How much information they can give others about their partner's disability, etc.), etc.
The big thing with boundaries is that it's not a "one size fits all" thing. Somebody's boundaries will constantly be changing and shifting depending on the situation, the day, or even just their current mood.
At least for my boyfriend and I, the biggest thing is communication. There will be times where I notice he's struggling and will ask if he wants me to push him for a bit. Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't. But even if he's okay being pushed by me, I would never just randomly start pushing him without his consent.
With your characters, this could look something like one character asking the other if they need help doing something (Ex: "Do you want me to grab that for you?"). It could also look like one character correcting the other on language for themself (Ex: One character says, "This is my girlfriend, she's autistic." The other says, "Actually, I prefer being called a person with autism."). The character could explain why that is (Ex: "I was called autistic a lot as an insult and don't want to use that language for myself now.") or they can just leave it as is and let their preference be known.
As with any relationship, navigating consent can be a bit awkward at the beginning -- especially if this is your characters first time meeting in person. It's normal for them to stumble a bit and for there to be misunderstandings. For example, maybe one character accepts the other's offer of help but they have two different definitions of what "help" means in that context.
Of course, the nature of the conversation will differ depending on when they're having it. If it's happening during the online part of their relationship, it likely won't focus as much on physical things (When to help them, for example) and will instead focus on some of the other points such as language and discussing their disability with other people.
The last thing to keep in mind is that the process of discussing consent and boundaries looks different for everyone. The information I'm sharing is just my perspective on the matter. You'll have a different one, as will your disabled readers.
Cheers,
~ Mod Icarus

Dating Opinion?
If you want to keep a romantic relationship, you have to be able to keep friendships and platonic relationships. People date people with support circles; they date people who have friends; they date people who go to events; people like people who are well rounded, and your relationships will be better if you make a point of having a life outside of your romantic life.
If your boyfriend is the most interesting thing about you, you are doing something wrong. You need to have interests of your own, a job of your own, a life of your own, and things going on that are only for you. Let me ask you this: if you tie your happiness to one person and center your whole life around them, what will you do and who will you be if things don’t work out?
You also need to take your time getting to know people and not leap into things with them because you’re lonely or you want to be able to say you have a boyfriend. It would suck to wake up next to somebody in bed one day and think to yourself, “I don’t know this person at all,” and have to go through the process of unpacking your real feelings towards someone who you loved at one point but feels like a stranger now.
Dating and keeping relationships also aren’t easy; I’ll be the first to tell you that it can be total nonsense at times, but if you’re willing to put the work in and make an effort to communicate with your partner, things get better. I would not be where I am today if I didn’t make efforts to communicate with my partner, listen to him, and keep his feelings and experiences in mind too.
Last, but not least, a lot of hypergamy spaces encourage codependency, push women to rely on their partners prematurely, and don’t push the value of being able to communicate. If you truly care for someone and value what you have with them, it’s only natural to be willing to sit down and address any questions, concerns, or problems in your relationship without getting angry or upset or falling to pieces.

” HELLO EVERYONE, GUYS!! DO NOT PASS ㅤㅤㅤㅤ BY, THIS IS AN ADVERTISEMENT ㅤㅤㅤㅤ FOR A LITERARY CLUB!
Tumblr media
I have the honor to introduce you: the first and most ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ important president of the circle associated with ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ ㅤ librarianship and preserving the memory of various ㅤ ㅤ ㅤexcellent authors — Brightney the Lamp! And also, a ㅤ ㅤ beautiful girl with good taste and a very high mind. Yes, yes, this is a very important part! I like to sit at books late at night, learn from the works and write my own stories. I ㅤdon't like loafing, loud noises, and bad behavior in the library. Now, we are fully acquainted, so we can begin your ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ little enlightenment into my affairs!
Introduction: ㅤDon't worry, Rodger wasn't hacked and he didn't delete his account (otherwise I see that there haven't been any posts from him for a long time because of my intrusion).. It's just that this Sir befriendly lent me his blog on Tumblr so that your sweet Brigtney could talk about our shared comfortable library circle (why you should definitely visit it and what we will do) and about the participants you can meet in it! Yes, yes, even so! And since this part is, for the most part, my introduction and excerpt.. I would like to add that. YES, I ALSO CONSIDER RODGER TOON TO BE A NON-TRADITIONAL ORIENTATION, YOU GUYS ARE NOT ALONE. I can feel it from afar, it's not for nothing that I've read huge collections about relationships —… Oh, I'm sorry, we'll talk about this later, Rodger started looking at me menacingly (HOWEVER, if you do join the club, we can discuss the mental analysis of this Sir with examples from the literature in one of the sessions, if he doesn't come there.. Just keep it quiet, it's a secret)
ㅤㅤㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤTHE MAIN PART :
ㅤYou won't regret joining our literary club! It's a place ㅤㅤwhere books come to life and discussions become real journeys into the world of literature. We read a variety of ㅤㅤ genres, from classics to modern prose, and each participant can offer their book for discussion. Every week we gather to share our thoughts and impressions, and it ㅤalways leads to interesting and deep conversations. In addition, we have meetings with our local ‘stars’ (I MEAN VEE, SHE AGREED TO VISIT US SOMETIMES), which will ㅤgreatly increase the excitement in the circle. We also organize creative events such as literary contests and workshops where you can develop your writing skills. Our club has a friendly atmosphere, and you are sure to find like-minded people and new friends. If you love literature and want to discover something new, come to us! We will be glad to see you and create a unique atmosphere of ㅤㅤㅤㅤ communication and inspiration together.
ㅤ Also, by becoming a member of the circle, you automatically get unlimited access to my library! That is, at any time and hour, even when I'm not there, you can relax on cool and soft ottomans or sip Teagan tea at the table (just be careful! Don't spill it on yourself or on the ㅤbooks). Oh, yes, I almost forgot. Participants also get access to unlimited tea and coffee, and all thanks to the ㅤㅤ misis Mug! So, don't forget to thank her for it :b
And a little new vision in the circle! Now each participant can receive their own personal logo with a bow, made and sewn from.. A DRUM ROLL.. from GLISTEN! Oh, he's such a good guy! It's only recently that we got the Mirror, even ㅤthough I've been inviting it to our club all the time.. I'm talking too much. IN SHORT! By joining the circle, you can approach this boy and officially order our beautiful logo. ㅤㅤHowever, keep in mind that the ribbon will always be GREEN, so choose the colors and the thing that will be on the emblem more carefully. For example, I have a Feather ㅤㅤㅤㅤ sewn here! — Yeah, it's very beautiful.
Summary results for the lazy (Although, ㅤㅤwhat's the point of joining a LITERARY circle if you're ㅤㅤㅤㅤ even too lazy to read a short text??):
(By joining the club, you will receive..)
A reading experience and a good atmosphere!!!
Unlimited access to the Library (and yes, I forgot to tell you. It's on the ground floor of the third elevator!)
Meeting with the star of the quiz program — Vee
Masterclasses and contests
Excellent tea and coffee from Teagan (who will always be sitting in the library for you.. She really liked it there)
Special official logos to order from Glisten
And I'd like to add on my own: A handsome, muscularly attractive detective who comes to our club once every few weeks. Although, no. I'm not letting you look at sexy guys instead of reading 😤—
Well, that's it, guys! I hope you are at least interested in ㅤㅤsomething and you have a desire to join the club.. Although, this is more specific to toons, which makes me extremely upset. But don't worry, if I ever have my own ㅤㅤㅤblog, we can set up an online literary club, but in the meantime, you can get some information from Rodger about books! He's certainly not me, but the detective's ㅤㅤㅤ reading experience is more than good^^
ㅤㅤㅤ————————————————
ㅤㅤㅤㅤ Members: (This section was created to show my favorites and their wishes for you! And maybe your personal opinion about ㅤㅤㅤㅤ the club.. For this reason, read to the end)
Tumblr media
Razzle and Dazzle, comedy and drama specials at the same time! Deputy head of the club, keeps order in the ㅤㅤㅤㅤ library (puts books in their place, etc)🌙☀️
— Yes, that's us!!! Hello country, hello world, we are ready to work for the benefit of the club and you wonderful persons!!
— (Oh, you're at it again.. Be more calm, brother, you can't make noise in the library.. Don't set a bad example for them. Be quiet and calm, literary works require diligent thoughtfulness and understanding to understand the deep essence of it to the end.. This does not apply to comedi—)
— Hey! You're belittling me in public again!
Tumblr media
Astro, the second headman, runs the library exclusively at night (if you take a late meal or have a nightmare, then go to him for sure!). He is also an expert in everything, but his ㅤㅤ favorite genre is science fiction about space ✉️
( I'm sorry, I didn't have time to interview him because he... he.. Um, too busy! Yes! This one's definitely not because he's missing or something.. )
Our beautiful Teagan! She has recently joined our team, but she is always ready to offer you interesting fashion ㅤㅤㅤㅤ magazines, as well as sad romantic novels 🍃
Tumblr media
— Oh, my dear little darlings, I must confess that I have yet to fully immerse myself in the enchanting realm of literature, much like the illustrious Brigtney. However, I would be absolutely delighted to share a delightful cup of spiced tea with you, accompanied by a captivating book. Please, do not hesitate to approach me; I have a splendid tea set that is perfect for such serene and cozy moments. One can only hope that the mischievous dog-girl refrains from nibbling on it once more... Wouldn’t you agree, Mr. Rodger?
Tumblr media
This is my favorite duo! Rodger and Toodles (who also ㅤ ㅤㅤjoined here not long ago) are ardent fans of ㅤㅤDetective Stories, especially if they contain a bit of psychological horror.. Are you sure children can read this?.. Although, I know for sure that when this little girl learns to analyze the text under my guidance, she will not ㅤㅤㅤㅤ only read such works, heh^^⭐️💫
— Wait a minute, when did Toodles manage to devour the tea set.. ahem. Yes, when I have a little free time, I spend most of my time reading a book. However, at this point in time, I'm not only reading a detective story, so it would be extremely helpful if you would recommend some work. Only normal.. I've had enough of Brigtney as it is (I'll read romance with Glisten, he just seems to like this genre.. Although, after the death of Romeo and Juliet, he has not yet recovered..)
— VEEE! VEE iS comINg! SHE's cOMing, SHESs COOMing! I reALLy waNT to see hEr, I'm heR faN. I hOPe she liKESs dETECctive boOKks toO.
ps: I did not choose the logo for the bow, but this star on the bow is extremely good.. I think Mirror did a good job. My daughter liked it too, that's the most important thing.
ㅤㅤㅤㅤ Glisten stars (???):
Tumblr media
Yeah, I made a separate paragraph for Glisten because ㅤㅤhe... he.. The coolest, most beautiful, awesome and attractive toon in the whole center! It's impossible not to ㅤㅤgive Mirror a special place of honor when he not only visited me, but also bothered to help me upgrade the ㅤㅤㅤㅤ club.. God, do I have to write all this? 🎀
— Oh, yes, it's me! Come on, stop applauding! I know that you all love me, but there should be silence on the stage. That's it, thanks. Your wonderful Glisten has finally decided to join the club, after several pleading requests from Brightney. However, I'm not going to go to the library often beca— WAIT A MINUTE! Will Teagan be there? Wait, where is she from.. together with Rodg? In the same room? She's a two-faced fuc—... Mmm, anyway, this Lamp inspired me to improve and I will gladly go to the literary club every day. So wait for me there, my beloved fans😘
ㅤㅤㅤ————————————————
Phew, it was hard, but we got through it.. More precisely, I ㅤdid it! Thank you for reading, and I hope you didn't get bored my presentation. Maybe we'll see each other on the blog someday, if I need anything else from Mr. Rodger, but ㅤㅤㅤㅤ for now, see you again^^ ”

Composite chart observations
(18+ mdni)
Conjunctions are great but look at what’s involved in the conjunction
Debilitation within conjunction could bring down the whole thing
Debilitated mars may make getting started extremely difficult
I had an exact conjunction (sun mercury venus mars all in early degrees cancer like 0-2orb) with a scorpio moon (mars and moon debilitated mutual reception) eventhough everything trined it took us forever to get started (Saturn conjunct jupiter in the first) we finally hooked up after 3 years we barely talk and every single conversation was either arguing or sexual. Mars really did its thing there.
I think the mars being debilitated overpowered the sun mercury and venus who are all okay with being in cancer but the mars caused these angry and sexual feelings to linger for a long time also the scorpio moon added to the inability to let it go. But it could also be because that scorpio moon is super important
Venus conjunct sun in composite is better than in synastry. Venus and sun in synastry can cause idealization but in composite it’s a little more mutual. (Can be superficial though)
Anything in the 7th house for a composite chart shows how you guys deal with third parties. From my experience
Pluto in the 7th house indicates a lot of possessiveness
Mars in the 7th people might not like the relationship.
Mars or Pluto in the 7th, 10th, or 11th people probably want to break you up.
Moon in the 7th? My relationship with this one we literally dealt with feelings through other people (we were poly and he would talk about how he felt about me to the other girl but never me).
We had 5th house stellium in cancer our relationship was mostly about sex in the house never anywhere else.
And 5th house ruler (being very important in this chart) in the 7th was a heavy emphasis on other people. I had a falling out with the girl and the relationship with him did not feel as interesting.
11th house placements talk about community. I had neptune in the 11th house and we knew about eachothers friends, but never met them. (Distance)
Chiron or Lilith in the 7th can indicate 3rd party involvement maybe Neptune too
Stellium in the 7th could be a very social relationship?
Venus conjunct moon has a deep intimacy to it
Me and one of my guy friends have a stellium in the 5ths but Aquarius rising with Uranus in the 1st and we are solely friends but the sexual tension is so real and we always pretend to be dating and like post eachother and stuff. He’s like my boyfriend but not fr.
I have a lot of 5th house stelliums in synastry apparently😂. Me and my guy friends have 5 planets in the 5th house and north node and they are all opposite Pluto and when he mentions another girl I get so tense and idek why lol. we’re not dating or anything I just get soooo triggered I had to stop talking to him for like 6th months cause he broughtt his girl best friend around me. But he’s like the same and he’s literally always going off on someone who hits on me every time we hangout. And my friend says she feels weird cause whenever she talks to me he like places himself right between us. We should never date cause it would be a nightmare😭.
At the same time we are always posting dates together (5th house stellium) and it makes people so jealous (Pluto in the 11th).
Saturn in the first house composite has been such a let down for me. On the one hand the relationship has longevity, but on the other it takes sooo long to get started that it’s over before it even begins and then it takes sooo long to move on from. I think both people put a lot of effort in and they don’t want to let go.
That’s all for now let me know what you guys want more of!
my chart readings are available:))

You’ve activated my trap card: infodumping my thoughts about Sanji’s fucked up relationship with vulnerability and intimacy.
I remember reading something once that talked about how many men struggle with discerning the difference between the desire for intimacy and the desire for sexual satisfaction because the two are so often considered synonymous for men in society. One person talked about how her partner thought he had ED issues until they started exploring different ways to fulfill his emotional needs and he learned the difference between being horny and wanting emotional closeness. That’s always kind of stuck with me, the way men are expected to fulfill all of their emotional needs through sex with romantic partners, because wanting non-sexual intimacy is something seen as “girly” or “weak.” And I’ve thought about it a lot in regards to Sanji and his relationship to masculinity and vulnerability.
Sanji has a very hard time expressing his kind and vulnerable side because of the abuse he suffered as a kid. After he ran away from Germa, he learned to act like a tough little asshole as a defense mechanism, because there was no one to protect him anymore. Even after Zeff took him in as someone who genuinely loves him, Zeff basically acts the same way, being rough and tumble ex-pirate who communicates his love to Sanji in more subtle ways. So being raised by him pretty much reinforced that switch in his personality to only showing his kindness in ways that are considered acceptable for a man (cooking, flirting with women, ect.)
Sanji is most comfortable putting on a tough guy persona and acting like an asshole, even if his actions directly contradict it (e.g. saying he only saves women only to risk his life throwing Usopp out of danger three seconds later). Which is something a lot of people in One Piece do, but Sanji takes it to another level, because even now he has his family’s voices in the back of his head telling him he’s weak, a failure, subhuman. Rather than just a front to act tough, I think Sanji genuinely feels unsafe showing the parts of himself he was told make him weak. He trusts his friends with his life, but childhood trauma dies hard and the traumatized child inside him still thinks showing kindness and vulnerability leads to pain, and as such he still struggles to be truly emotionally vulnerable with people, ESPECIALLY other men, who he sees as the bigger threat.
However, fearing your emotional needs doesn’t make them go away. Sanji LOVES people. Despite his incurable asshole disease, he’s extremely personable. He has a big bleeding heart and cares so deeply for the people around him. He craves connection, and I think that goes doubly so for a romantic relationship, because Sanji loves so intensely. I think in a relationship with Zoro they would have a hard time getting into sync at first. Falling in love with Zoro came out of LEFT FIELD for Sanji, it was in NO WAY something he was prepared for and is nothing like he ever imagined, therefore it’s completely uncharted territory. They suck at communicating because Zoro doesn't always realize things need to be said out loud and Sanji’s afraid to ask. He’s especially not comfortable with the idea of wanting intimacy from Zoro. Despite the inherent trust and respect they have for each other, their relationship has always been volatile, electric, violent. There’s no room for softness. Men aren’t supposed to want tenderness from other men. He’s not supposed to want closeness from Zoro. That’s not how they are, that’s not what he pretends he is.
Sex on the other hand, sex is safe. Men are supposed to want sex—expected to—and while sex and emotional intimacy often go hand in hand it’s not scoffed at the way non-sexual intimacy is. He’s able to fulfill some of the desire for closeness through sex without completely opening himself up to vulnerability. But wanting sex and wanting intimacy aren’t the same thing, and Sanji’s not actually allowing himself what he needs. Enter Zoro figuring out what Sanji’s doing after he reaches a breaking point (starts sobbing half-way through sex which PANICS THE HELL out of Zoro) and being like “yeah I’m not letting him do that anymore” and starts opening up the option for different kinds of intimacy in their relationship in a way that doesn’t make Sanji feel exposed or demeaned.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have a headcanon that Sanji struggles with wanting/asking for non-sexual intimacy from Zoro. So if he's having a rough day or just wants to be held by the man he loves he'll initiate sex in order to feel that connection, regardless of whether he's actually in the mood. But Zoro's gotten unnervingly good at telling when he's doing this and redirecting to give him what he actually needs in that moment.

Been sitting on this, but I think maybe some of the younger generation of fans in fandom need to hear this.
Your fandom has X, and you don't like X. Now, this can be anything: a trope, a pairing, a kink. Doesn't matter. Some people in your fandom like X, and you don't. Now, the X-enjoyers get attacked by the antis over it, and let's say that you, because you also don't like X, gloat a little about this. Very "ha ha they got what they deserved." Let's say you make a few posts like this. You didn't do the attacking, right? So who cares?
Maybe I don't like X, either, but I do like Y. And I look at what you have been posting about X, and I think oh, maybe they feel the same way about Y. Maybe if they find out that I like Y, they will do the same thing to me. And now, you are no longer a safe space for me in fandom. I don't want to share it with you. I stop starting conversations, because maybe I wrote X in a past fandom and I'm afraid you'll find out. Maybe X and Y are close enough that I worry you will decide they are on the level of "bad." Maybe I just don't like the way you treated other people in the fandom when they needed support.
Fandom is a community. Fanfic is fiction. And this purity culture shit needs to die. I've been in fandoms for over two decades, and I've watched waves of this come, and I don't think that younger fans understand what it used to be like to have to warn for any queer relationships. To have friends add "anti-yaoi" banners on their GeoCities sites. To see scores of fics wiped off platforms because someone decided they were bad and mass deleted, with no warning. This is a slippery slope, assigning morality to the fiction people write, and once it starts, it doesn't stop. You may think you are "morally pure" for not liking X, but friend, everyone in the fandom has been writing Z the whole time, including you, and just wait until that becomes the trigger for the antis to attack.
Be better. And don't become part of the problem.

Love coming towards you right now (for singles)
pick a number 1-5 OR an emoji: 💘 😈 💦 🤠 🩶
(ps. this reading is for practice and for fun)
1.💘 First of all, this connection is very special. This is true compatibility and love. If there is already someone you are seeing and things have been rough, your relationship will improve, things will be made right, accountability taken. The outcome is happy ending, happy times. Now if you are completely single / stuff going on in love, it shall pass. Things will improve, your energy is healing. You have a new path opening in love and it's time to have faith. It might feel like you are asked to trust in the mysticism of life, but do have faith. It's time to turn the leaf and leave the past behind. Be grateful for all you've learned so far and it's time now to enjoy this new true bond, true love. This person is truly compatible with you, you are a match made in heaven.
2.😈 This one is tough. Although the reading is about right now, the cards are saying this will be the situation you are dealing with for the next few weeks, so around 3 weeks. The main message for this pile is they are the problem, not you. It looks like there is someone, who doesn't want to offer you anything. They don't want to commit. It looks a lot like breadcrumbing. It's like they are here and might do something random, but it's only to keep you in the hook. They watch you, but looking at the cards, the cards say that they are around, they actually check on you on social media. But they don't say anything, they don't directly communicate with you. It's almost like a joke. What they bring to you is lies and thiefs. They bring you drama. It's like they don't want you to focus on yourself, to find balance, to heal, to be empowered. They don't want you to see, how you shine. It's very selfish energy coming from this person. They don't want to give you anything, but they want you to want them and to be ready to do anything to have them. It's like they are saying "come catch me, if you can", lol. They expect action from you. More volumes. You pushing harder and trying harder. I do see competition here, they are definitely putting you into competition, third-parties. The cards are reminding you that if someone is really into you and there are challenges, they would work on bringing balance back into the relationship. But in this case, they expect you to do that on your own and it doesn't work like that. They should be supporting you and your connection. So pay attention to everything that will happen during the next 3 weeks, to all the actions taken. It seems it's instead rather a potent time for you to choose yourself and focus on yourself and on personal balance. And one more time, remember this: you are not the problem; they are the problem.
3.💦 This one is complicated. You could be dealing with rejection. It looks like someone is unable to open up, they still are in a victim mentality of some kind. It looks like someone is stuck on their ex and haven't let go of resentment. The cards are saying "don't stop". This person could definitely be stuck on their ex, maybe even going back to them, unless they are already back together. In this situation, there is nothing you can do about it, it's not in your hands. If despite of everything mentioned above, they do somehow pursue you and want to stay in touch with you, it looks like it's out of fear that you'll free yourself from this situation and find someone new. It seems they are trying to keep you isolated from potential new love.
4.🤠 This is definitely friends with benefits -situation. That's all they want. This person or people seem to have a certain image of you. Since this is not a personal reading, it will depend on who you are. But they have a certain image of you that makes them think they can manipulate you, makes them think they can make you have a friends with benefits situation with them. This is someone, who is like a storyteller. They know the right things and right words to say to draw you in. But they will not deliver. It's only to make you give to them. They will use their skills to make you compromise, to make you give up on love. This person will use their personal power on you, their strengths to lure you in. They only want sxx with you, to use you. That's all. But be careful, the cards are making it very clear that if you let them win, you will not be happy and you will feel intensively displeased and disappointed (the sxx will be bad).
5.🩶 For this pile, it doesn't look like anyone specific is coming towards you in love. Maybe you don't even have a love interest. But even if you do, whoever would be coming through, they are very much living in their own world. Looking at the cards, if you'd have anything offered to you at this time, it would be friends with benefits or a one time fling at best. It's just this person already has their plates and tables full. They are focused on themselves, they already have their commitments, busy lives and they do have options. So this person doesn't feel the need to rush with matters of the heart. Like said already they live in their own world. The cards say to give it time. Don't be too obsessed with them and with the outcome. Just leave it be. Eventually you'll either move on or maybe things will align for you two. But that's something only the divine knows.

Do you ever find it strange when people almost…brag about being disabled or compete with who has had the most micro aggressions? Or make it into an almost game? Not sure if I’m explaining myself right.
For example I saw someone who made a “quirky/silly” list of the ‘insults they got as a cane user’ on the first day of using a cane, And the ‘insults were like “did you get hurt?”.
Asking if you got hurt is not an insult?? Especially if someone’s never seen you with a cane before it’s a pretty normal question to ask??
I’m saying this as a full time wheelchair user who got sick later in life but it’s not a “game” it just is.
I think I understand what you’re saying, yeah.
I do find it extremely strange and frustrating when other disabled people with purposely “compete” or try to compare in an unhealthy way to severely disabled people — which actually often happens to me with this account. I’ll get comments specifically talking down to me as if I couldn’t possibly understand what it’s like, while being severely disabled? I actually have taken breaks from both my tumblr, twitter, and instagram because of the type of responses i get from OTHER DISABLED people and how they truly cannot grasp the idea of intersectionality and the interconnectedness of certain prejudices, oppression, minority “status”, ability, etc. I have gotten a fair share of people accusing me of being privileged of all things for getting a powerchair? For having a wheelchair, for being a full time wheelchair user, as if any of this is a privilege in anyway? Just because they might not have been “”approved”” for a mobility aid they might not necessarily benefit from. Some people truly want to appear more disabled than they are because of the trauma of not being listened to as a disabled person, and I can understand the pain, I still don’t have any treatment and my disability only progresses, but exaggerating and being untruthful with your experiences not only hurts others, but it also hurts yourself.
Also, I’ve never understood people that get genuinely upset when people ask innocent questions. Obviously, you aren’t obligated to respond to them or comment on it. But to act as if it is an act of extreme or violent oppression is… wrong.
People are curious by nature, in order to understand they ask questions, some of those questions might not be the best wording but that doesn’t immediately mean they have bad intentions. People stare, that doesn’t mean they hate you or want you to die, some people think you seem interesting or cool or pretty etc. it’s not inherently an act of oppression.
Yes, it can be frustrating to be stared at and constantly forced to answer questions, but at the end of the day, people are curious and they /want/ to understand.
I think minimizing what ableism is has only hurt the disabled community — people will claim simple questions are ableism which then hinders disabled people’s relationships with each-other and able-bodied people. It makes our very real oppression (which HAS and continues to lead to thousands and millions of deaths) into a game or joke.

i stumbled upon this while scrolling and it's such a well-written post that i just had to share my thought on this too!
first of all, i've been a fanfic reader since i was very young so i know what it feels like to be on the other side. i've been anxious and nervous to reblog or write comments and have never even thought of messaging the authors i read and liked just because i was terrified of being perceived. but trust me, writers are so incredibly grateful for every little interaction they get. i know it can be nerve wracking but you will never be judged for what you have to say! every single piece of feedback and opinion i get means the whole world to me and every time i get a comment, a reblog or an ask makes me so happy, it seriously makes my whole day.
i've been on the writer side since summer 2023 and a couple of months ago i came back after an extremely long hiatus and was so scared and worried because almost a year had passed since i had last promised updates yet i had failed to come back due to many reasons. but then i saw that people still cared and even though i lost most of my readers from back when i first started writing, i was so happy to see that new people were getting interested and were actually willing to talk to me and share their feedbacks. so thank you, to those who have been doing that <3
i don't judge people who decide to stay silent but trust me, there's nothing to fear! writers don't bite, we're human too so of course, naturally we thrive off interactions too, just like anyone else. there isn't a barrier between the two groups - all of us are fans of the same things and share the same interests, this is always a two way relationship.
writing is my hobby and something i like doing but sometimes the silence is killing me especially after coming back from a hiatus 😭 i don't write for notes, i do it for my own enjoyment but still, hearing something nice about your works always feels good and validating!
and about the genres - i see too what's more read and what's popular but it's so sad to hear that authors force themselves to write something that they don't originally really want to just to have someone read their stories. every story is worth giving a chance and authors shouldn't be required to fit themselves into certain boxes just so people pay attention. no one can be forced to read anything of course but my whole point is to be kind to authors and give them a chance because sometimes you can find such gems when you least expect it.
of course, there will always be genres that are more generally liked but we need diversity too so please, writers do what you want and what you love - the right people will appreciate it.
and on that note...i've been mostly writing smaus/texts so i feel like like sometimes it's even harder to get feedback and i think these are not as read as before but i still think it's worth keeping even this genre alive just because it's so fun (at least to me).
i just hope our community here stays alive for longer and starts thriving because it's so sad to see so many people leave :(
just be brave, interact and encourage others to do so too! support your favourite writers because they all are amazing and deserve all the love in this world!
to a dying? atinyblr
i don't usually speak about these things, but a lot of blogs (amazing writers) are leaving this platform or taking time off bc of lack of engagement which serves as a big demotivating factor. especially and specifically in this atiny fandom, some things have come to my attention and i just want all readers and writers to take a look at this post and refresh some reading and writing etiquettes, as well as revive the essence of being a part of this fandom.
feedback:
i understand that there are a lot of silent readers on here, but since tumblr is dying and our fandom is not very huge, the least you can do to show the writers some support is like the post.
which brings me to the point that the like function didn't even exist in the past. this site still runs on reblogs. as readers, to show your favourite writers some semblance of support, you should be reblogging with tags. a simple ‘#ateez x reader’ or ‘#ateez fics’ is enough. it's literally not asking for much– reblogs are the only way writers can get reach.
if you cannot do that bc of your blog's aesthetic or whatever, side blogs exist. if you still cannot do that, a simple anon ask appreciating the writer sometimes saves them.
also, what has happened to the quality of reblogs? readers consume years of writers’ work and efforts in mere hours and don’t even leave any feedback? art in general in all forms is very underappreciated and with all sorts of problems like plagiarism, ai writing and everything, true art and writing is dying and needs to be appreciated now more than ever. we’re literally the last generation witnessing ai take over in all fields of arts. appreciate content creators before it’s too late, don’t be a content glutton!
updates and requests:
asking writers for updates when they specifically mention that they would prefer posting at their pace is wrong for so many reasons– we all have a real life. you, the reader, do too. just like you don't always have time to read, writers don't always have time to write. do you ever see the writers asking their readers 'why have you not read my latest chapter?'
most of the times, writers mention in their bio/faq post or elsewhere that they do mind being asked about updates. respect your writers, please, and do a little scroll before you send such demanding asks (also, sugarcoating when asking for updates does not make it any better!)
if you are only asking about updates, it demotivates a lot of writers bc these same people will disappear when it is time for feedback. writing is a form of art. we can write, artists can paint, musicians can compose music, but all of it has no meaning unless it is shared with an audience and appreciated. readers are just as important as the writers but there is no way of knowing fics are valued unless feedback is given.
the same goes for requests. you can only send a request when the requests are open, which is usually mentioned in the writer’s bio/faq post. it’s literally not that hard to check if requests are open and it’s basic decency to not send a request when the writers specifically mention that requests are closed. when sending a request, please be courteous. a ‘please’ or ‘thank you’ are examples of being courteous when sending requests.
the fanfics in atinyblr:
i understand that you can read whatever you like, but why is it that in the atiny fandom, fics that do not contain smut hardly ever get attention? as a writer, i enjoy writing and reading smut, and while i am not specifically a smut blog, i have noticed how fics containing smut get far more reach than fics that do not contain smut– not just in my case, but other amazing writers as well.
there are such amazing fictions in this fandom. all fics are crafted with dedication and care, yet stories without smut often get sidelined. writers are not able to express themselves in their writing freely anymore and they simply conform to a genre they know readers will consume, as they are forced to consider adding smut to their stories so they can get more reach in this fandom. i have heard accounts from a lot of writers who were inclined to add smut to an otherwise smut-free fic just for reach.
this is by no means hate to the smut writers. i am also not placing blame on them. smut drabbles have always been in this fandom, and there are amazing smut writers out there, doing their thing. it is the readers here who are failing the writers. readers are quick to talk about the lack of ‘good fics’ or ‘plot’ yet will not even bother searching for these works. there used to be a good balance and appreciation for all genres alike.
i know that smut is what's hot and trendy these days, and drabbles in general, no matter the genre, are easier to read when you want to take a short break. but there is such a lack of longfics in this fandom, especially as of lately, and as someone who has personally witnessed the ratio of longfics decrease exponentially, i felt the need to point this out. appreciate all writers! appreciate all genres! longfic writers need as much validation and encouragement as drabble writers, and vice versa! don't be too harsh on longfic writers for not pumping out fics at the same speed as shortfic writers.
and on that note, smut drabble writers experience a lack of quality feedback despite the high engagement, so readers, please don't hesitate to point out exactly what you liked about a fic, even if it's a short drabble! be kind to those writers, give them time to write and be kind when sending requests! they may post more often but they, too, have a life.
tags:
this is specifically for the people who will post a very normal picture of a member, no caption, but tag it something like #ateez smut, #ateez hard hours, #ateez x reader. and for the people who tag their asks with irrelevant tags– literally learn to tag your post properly, and stop crowding the wrong tags. you're just proving the point that if you don't tag a post with the smut tag or something similar, it won't get reach. if you've posted with a caption, that makes sense (though it still doesn't warrant some of the tags being used there).
as for writers, also learn to use your tags appropriately. fics that do not contain smut should not be tagged with smut related tags. believe in yourself. i get that there is the problem of reach but do not overcrowd tags with irrelevant material.
disclaimer:
this is by no means about me. if i cared about the notes, or lack thereof, i would have stopped writing a while ago. while it is challenging to be a writer here, especially as of lately, i still enjoy posting whatever i write no matter the genre or the word count. but it's a bit disappointing that my planned out fics get much less attention than a simple smut headcanons post that i wrote in the heat of the moment with my friend in literally a few hours as a joke (which has reached almost 10k notes btw in a span of 2 years). sure, it has exposed my blog to new readers but that's about it.
this post is for all the amazing writers who have left, are thinking of leaving, or are struggling to voice these problems because they are afraid of being marked as 'problematic' or a 'hater' or something worse. i am not afraid to voice my opinion on here, and if you think that i am wrong, feel free to interact with this post and correct me because i am not claiming that i am right about this.
these are just the observations i have made as someone who has been actively writing on this platform for about 4 years now, and since i have a decent number of followers, i hope this post gets more reach. do not be afraid to reblog this if you agree, and even if you do not, reblog this so someone else gets educated. i may have missed some points so feel free to add if you want too.
